Flooding is possible in Index, Gold Bar & Sultan.
The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Index, Gold Bar & Sultan.
The Skykomish River near Gold Bar will have moderate flooding this morning. Heavy rain over the Cascades is forecast to last several more hours… then taper in the afternoon.
It is possible the river will reach or exceed the major flood stage by noon today.
When the Skykomish River floods, that means that the Wallace River will flood as well.

Precautionary/preparedness actions.
Do not drive cars, vans or trucks through flooded areas. This is the cause of most flood related deaths in Washington. Be alert for rapid changes and monitor developments by listening to NOAA Weather, the radio or other local media.
If road closure signs have been placed, do not pass these road closed signs!
