City of Gold Bar – Public Notice in Regards to Single Use Carryout Bags
In December 2019 the City Council passed a new regulation around the use of bio-degradable bags. As of July, 2020, local businesses are required to provide these bags or allow customers to use reusable bags. For bags provided by the business, the business is allowed to charge a fee of five cents per bag. This fee is not a City tax and the City sees no revenue from this regulation. The fee is for the businesses to help them recoup the cost of bio-degradable bags. Beginning in January, 2021, this regulation will become state-wide. Please contact the City with any questions.
