Wallace Falls State Park First Day Hike 2019
Kick off the New Year with a FIRST DAY HIKE!!
January 1st is a free day – vehicle access pass not required.
Kick off the New Year by joining park staff on a FIRST DAY HIKE at Wallace Falls State Park. Park staff will be leading two hikes this year.
At 12:00 noon, please join Senior park Aide Leslie Holmes on a hike around the Interpretive Loop Trail. Learn the story of Grandmother Cedar Tree and of the park’s forest ecology. The hike is approximately 1 mile and will last 1 hour. Meet at the parking lot trailhead at 12 noon.
Ranger Kevin Lease will be leading a hike to Middle Falls, starting at 9:30a.m. Learn about the park history, hiking trails, park features, and more. We will hike at a moderate pace and make multiple stops.
Location: Meet at the parking lot trailhead – Staff will be present
Gear: Wear warm clothes and dress in layers. Sturdy hiking boots recommended
Difficulty: Easy for Interpretive Trail; Moderate for hike to Middle Falls
Other: Dogs are allowed but must be on a leash
