Follow the “Snowshoe Trek with a Ranger” sign in the Stevens Pass Resort Parking Lot A and meet at the Forest Service Guard Station. Trips for special events and school groups can also be scheduled. \nReservations are required though same-day sign-ups are possible and snowshoes are provided. A $15 donation for adults and $10 donation for youth 16 and under is suggested. \nSnowshoe with a Ranger \nLearn about the winter environment\, plants\, wildlife\, local history\, and snow safety on this 90-120 minute guided nature discovery tour along the Pacific Crest Trail. Meet at the Forest Service Guard Station by Parking Lot A at the Stevens Pass Mountain Resort. We will start the orientation in the Guard Station before starting the one mile hike. An optional Stevens Pass history presentation will be given at 10:30. \nSnowshoes are provide! DESCRIPTION:Long-term Planning begins for Wallace Falls State Park\nThe Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is beginning a public process that will lead to a long-term plan for Wallace Falls State Park near Gold Bar. \nThe planning process\, also known as Classification and Management Planning (CAMP) includes four stages: \n\n Identify issues and concerns of park stakeholders\n Explore alternative approaches to address identified issues\n Prepare preliminary recommendations to address issues or suggest a realistic compromise.\n Propose final recommendations for formal agency and Commission adoption.\n\nWashington State Parks has completed more than 100 land-use plans for parks around the state\, through its Classification and Management Plan (CAMP) process.  The CAMP process will address parking\, day-use and camping opportunities\, overall visitor experiences\, natural resources\, recreation areas and trails and other topics of interest to the community.   A copy of the official press release for this project can be found at http://parks.state.wa.us/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=346 . \nThe public is invited to participate in the process from the beginning by attending the first planning meeting\, scheduled for: \nNovember 15th from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Sultan City Hall Community Room located at 319 Main Street in Sultan.\nOpportunities for public comment will be available at the meeting\, and public comment also may be provided by contacting Randy Kline\, Parks Planner\, at (360)902-8632 or randy.kline@parks.wa.gov. \n  \nClick here to view the announcement PDF!
