The Sky Valley Chamber of Commerce sponsors this inspirational event every year with the help of volunteers from each group. \nEnjoy the slide show\, potluck dinner and social time that begins at 5:00pm with the awards celebration at 6:00pm. Follow the “Snowshoe Trek with a Ranger” sign in the Stevens Pass Resort Parking Lot A and meet at the Forest Service Guard Station. Trips for special events and school groups can also be scheduled. \nReservations are required though same-day sign-ups are possible and snowshoes are provided. A $15 donation for adults and $10 donation for youth 16 and under is suggested. \nSnowshoe with a Ranger \nLearn about the winter environment\, plants\, wildlife\, local history\, and snow safety on this 90-120 minute guided nature discovery tour along the Pacific Crest Trail. DESCRIPTION:Return of the Salmon Celebration in Sultan!\nEveryone is invited to Sultan’s 6th Annual Return of the Salmon Celebration on Saturday\, September 23rd\, from 10:30am to 4PM at Osprey Park\, 801 First Street\, Sultan WA 98294.  This free family event is in a covered venue and the event will go on rain or shine! \nSultan Mayor Carolyn Eslick has proclaimed September 23rd as “A Day of Remembrance for Chief T’seul-Ted\, and a Day Celebrating the Return of the Salmon.”  After two years at sea\, the Pink Salmon that left their birth river in Sultan as small fingerlings are back as adults to spawn in great numbers\, continuing the circle of life. \n4th Annual 5K Salmon Run Through Osprey Park!  This timed Runner’s Race begins at 10am sharp and is followed by a 1-mile Fast Walk.  Registration for the Walk is $15.  The tun entree fee is $20.  Register online at the Sky Valley Chamber of Commerce website.  Or\, the day of the race\, registration is open from 9:00 to 9:45am. \nOpen to all community runners and walkers\, the morning’s Salmon Run will wind through the scenic river paths in Osprey Park.  Preparations are being headed up by Sultan High School’s Cross Country Coach\, Rick Holloway and his team.  Prizes will be awarded. \nBeginning with a Native welcoming at 10:30am\, the event features an honoring of Sultan’s namesake Chief T’seaul-ted\, riverside tours and horse-drawn covered wagon rides to the Sultan High School Salmon Hatchery for tours and fish release.
